Ameda PP cards are a favorite amoung Sailor Moon Trading card collectors. Not only are they beautifull ,but it is also a challenge to try to collect them all because it is the Largest Sailormoon Card collection.

How many cards are in this collection?

This collection has 750 cards to collect broken up into 15 parts. Each part has at least 6 chase cards , some as many as 20. This includes 3 special PP13 Gold cards you could only get if you were lucky enough to find a special winning mailaway card.

What is a Soft or Hard Prism?

There are two kinds of PP Prisms. Soft and Hard. The soft kind came in the original PP envelope packs and were made of a glossy thin vinyl like sticker over a thin cardbard backing. The Hard prisms came in delux and smaller packs or with other Sailor moon products and are identical to the soft ones only the prism image is not a removable sticker. Which kind is more desirable is up to the collectors preference.

Why are these called PP?

These were sold in Pull Packs consisting of 32 envelopes each with one card inside. These envelopes were tied into a card board cover with a purple string. One visable prism was attached to the cover. The package was made to be hung in the shop. Customers would pay for a card and pull an envelope out of the pack hoping to get one they didn't already have and especially hoping to get a chase card. The envelopes from each part were different and many people also collect them for their beauty.

What are these little white pieces of paper with Japanese writing I sometimes find in my envelopes?

Some envelopes contained little pieces of paper which won the buyer the right to pick another envelope for free.

What other kinds of packaging were PP cards sold in?
Album packs: These packs came in a clear envelope with a beatifully illustrated card board backing. It came with a card case, Album or a mini Card Album and about 5 or so cards including one hard prism.

Delux packs: These came with regs, Hard Prisms and a case sealing in plastic on a cardboard backing. I have only seen these for parts 14 and 15. There were no silver cards included .

How do I know what Part my cards are from?
Reg's- The regs differ in style from part to part. All are numbered on front in a tiny white circle and say what part they are from on the back in English. However, Part 1 does NOT say Part 1 on them and Part 3 sometimes doesnt say what part but sometimes does. Parts 1-4 are two tone on back while parts 5 and up are full color on back. The backs are as interesting as the fronts and have Trivia about costumes and Quizes to test your knowledge aboutt he series. All are in Japanese of course, but if you search the web you may be able to find translations.

Why do these cards have "MoonPower" Points on them?

All the PP cards have a moon Power Value for use as a card game. No one seems to know exactly how to play this game, but I suspect its like War and you win if the card you throw down has more points then your opponants. Prisms generally have more power then Regs.

How do I know my cards are real?

Because of the high popularity of this and other Sailormoon sets, there are alot of fakes out there. Here are a few tips to help identifi a fake:

1. If your card is a prism sticker and it is not in the hologram patter is anything but square shapes, its fake.

2. If you feel the edges of your card and there is a little bump or nub on the center of the edges, its fake.

3. If you have a prism card and the number is usually a reg, its a fake.

4. Compair the color , texture and thickness to a real card. If it is darker, thicker and/or too shiny its a fake.

5. If the card is printed off center or if any of the wrds are cut off, it is probably a fake.H owever, there are a few real ones that were accidentally printed off center. I have a PP1 Venus Prisms like this.

What is a Silver, Gold or foil Card?

There are several kinds of Metalic Foil cards in the PP collection. The first are the Part 6 Gold etched foils. These are difficult to find. They are solid gold foil with an etched picture on them and no other color. The backs have a color portrait of the scout on the front and they do not say what part they are from. Part 8 has the same kinds of cards in silver. Part 13 has the special three gold cards that you could only get with the special mailaway card. These came together in a special folding cardboard display. Part 14 has silver etched fouil cards, but with color images in them framed with etching. These are very lovely.

3. PP5 Prisms 223-228
